This page explains what White Pine Web Design ("we," "us") collects through this website and our services, and what we do with it.

What we collect

What you send us. Your name, email, phone number, business details, website address and anything else you put in our forms or send us by email.

Project information. When you hire us, we also receive the files, content and account access you give us, along with billing details. Payment card numbers are handled by our payment provider, not stored by us.

Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting and security services process technical data, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested. Google Analytics also collects information about how visitors use the site, as described below.

Please don't send us sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, card numbers or health information, through our form or by email.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use this site, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type and which features get used. It sets cookies in your browser and sends this data to Google, which handles it under its own privacy policy. We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't send what you type into our quote form to Google Analytics. You can block cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out add-on. Our security provider may also set a cookie needed to protect the site. We don't respond differently to browser Do Not Track signals. Your choices in the price builder and demos stay in your browser unless you send them to us.

How we use it

We use this information to answer you, prepare quotes, do and support the work, send invoices and service messages, protect the site, keep required records and meet legal duties. We may also email you about your project, or follow up on a request you made. You can ask us to stop marketing email at any time.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information, or share it for other companies' advertising. We share it only with companies that help us run the business, and only as needed for that work. These include website hosting and security (Cloudflare), analytics (Google), email (Google and Resend), payment processing (Stripe), software and AI-assisted tools we use to prepare our work, and professional advisers. We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of selling or reorganizing the business.

Text messages

We don't send marketing text messages.

Your clients' information

If we build or manage a site for you, any information your visitors submit belongs to you, and we handle it on your behalf. You're responsible for your own site's privacy notice and for responding to your customers' requests. We don't accept patient, financial or similar regulated data without a separate written agreement.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests that don't become projects for up to 24 months. We keep project and billing records for as long as needed to serve you, and for up to 7 years for tax and legal reasons. After that, we delete them or make them anonymous, although copies may stay in backups for a limited time.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, but no website, email or storage system is completely secure, and we can't promise absolute security. If a security incident affects your information, we'll notify you as the law requires. If it affects data we hold for a client, we'll notify that client.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@whitepineweb.com. We may need to verify who you are, and we may keep what the law requires. If your state gives you additional privacy rights, we'll honor them as that law requires.

Children

Our site and services are for businesses, and aren't meant for children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their information. If you think we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

We may update this page, and we'll change the date at the top when we do.
