What do people search when they need a professional?
Office searches are mostly about a life event or a deadline: "small business lawyer," "estate planning attorney," "real estate closing," "accountant for small business," "bookkeeping help," "business insurance quote" or "tax preparer near me." Some are urgent, such as an IRS letter or a lawsuit. Most are careful comparisons.
Visitors want to know whether you handle their kind of problem, what the first conversation involves, what it costs, and how soon you answer.
Trust is the real product. A visitor cannot judge your work yet, so they judge your website. Plain language, accurate details, a real person to contact and a clear promise about response time all signal that the office is organized and will treat them well.
Which pages should an office site have?
- One page per service or practice area, written for the person with the problem, not for other professionals.
- The first meeting: what to bring, how long it takes and whether it is by phone, video or in person.
- Fees: how you charge, even if you can only give ranges or models.
- People: real bios if you want them, with credentials stated accurately.
- Contact: a short form and your hours.
What rules apply to professional advertising?
Many professions limit what you can say in marketing. Lawyers follow their state bar's advertising rules, and accountants and insurance agents answer to their own boards and regulators. Rules often cover testimonials, claims of expertise or results and required disclaimers. We build what you approve, but we are not your lawyer, so check your own rules before anything goes live.
What mistakes do office sites make?
- Stock photos of handshakes in place of anything real.
- Describing services in your profession's jargon.
- No mention of fees, which sends visitors to someone who answers the question.
- A contact form that invites people to type confidential details. Add a line asking them to leave private information out until you have agreed to work together.
- Outcome claims or "specialist" labels you cannot back up under your rules.
Careful wording matters more here than design. A 5-page office site is $2,500. See all prices, or read how our process works to see where you review every page before it goes live.
